How Reorda handles large Shopify catalogs and inventory snapshots

Large catalogs require more inventory data and more opportunities for API delays. Reorda uses saved inventory snapshots so a dashboard does not have to wait for a complete Shopify inventory refresh on every visit. This reduces dependence on live requests; it is not a guarantee of identical speed or zero failures at every catalog size.

Why live full-catalog requests become slow

Shopify inventory data is paginated, and multi-location catalogs increase the work needed for a complete view. API throttling or a transient error can delay a refresh. A page that waits for all of that work before showing any data can become difficult to use.

Snapshots separate reading from refreshing

Reorda stores inventory snapshots and refreshes them in the background through its hourly maintenance task, with an on-demand refresh workflow. The dashboard can use the most recent saved data while updates run. Check the displayed update time; a snapshot can be stale when synchronization is delayed.

Reorder suggestions are drafts, not live-stock guarantees

Draft purchase order suggestions use the low-stock data available to Reorda. Refresh and review quantities, outstanding orders and recent stock movements before sending a supplier order. Inventory can change between reading a quantity and confirming a real-world purchase.

Test a representative catalog

Try your actual variant count and locations, check a full refresh and review failure messages. A new installation may need time to build its first complete snapshot. Reorda’s flat price does not imply a universal performance guarantee or a certified maximum catalog size.

Frequently asked questions

Is dashboard speed identical for 50 and 5,000 variants?

No such benchmark is claimed. Snapshots reduce full-catalog API work during page visits, but data size, infrastructure and device performance still matter.

How often does inventory refresh?

The maintenance task is scheduled hourly, and on-demand refresh is available. Completion can be delayed by API or service errors; check the displayed update time.

Are draft PO suggestions guaranteed to use current live stock?

No. Review the data’s update time and refresh when needed before committing a supplier order.

Migrating off Stocky?

Reorda rebuilds your supplier database automatically from your purchase order history, the one thing Stocky never let you export. $19/month flat, 14-day free trial.
