Stocky inventory transfers are gone: what replaced them
Before Stocky’s full shutdown on August 31, 2026, one piece went away early: inventory transfers were removed in July 2025. If you used Stocky to move stock between locations, you’ve already felt this gap. Here’s what changed and how to handle it now.
What was removed
Stocky’s transfers let you move inventory from one location to another and track it in transit. That feature was retired in July 2025, so transfers created in Stocky no longer work and can’t be created. It was an early signal of the wider deprecation that follows in August 2026.
The replacement: Shopify’s native transfers
The good news is you don’t need Stocky for this. Shopify has built-in transfers in the admin:
- Go to Products → Transfers to create a transfer between two locations, with expected quantities.
- Or adjust quantities per location directly on a variant’s inventory screen for quick moves.
For most stores, native transfers cover what Stocky did here — moving units between a warehouse and a shop, or between shops.
Where this leaves your purchasing workflow
Transfers are only one half of multi-location. The other half is receiving new stock from suppliers into the right location — which is where a Stocky replacement still matters. Reorda lets you choose which location a purchase order is received into, so incoming stock lands in the correct place and Shopify inventory updates automatically. Combine that with Shopify’s native transfers and you’ve replaced both halves of what Stocky offered.
Migrating off Stocky?
Reorda rebuilds your supplier database automatically from your purchase order history — the one thing Stocky never let you export. $19/month flat, 14-day free trial.

Frequently asked questions
When did Stocky remove inventory transfers?
